“Prior to blockchain coming onto the scene, there was never a great tech backbone for connecting data directly between third party organizations; it’s always been a very difficult frontier. In the past, we relied on point-to-point connections or scheduled batch processing of targeted transactions. However, that presents challenges of data clarity and latency. Direct network connections involve a lot of careful coordination and result in only an isolated connection to one other organization. In the end, those solutions don’t tend to be flexible enough to deliver the set of objectives businesses want to achieve.
